Where are you from?
I’m from Houma, Louisiana, about 30 minutes from New Orleans.
How did you end up in Wilmington?
I moved to Pinehurst 1995 to start a real estate development company. I still live in Pinehurst today but have been developing real estate in Brunswick County and surrounding areas in North Carolina since 1995. It’s been an incredible journey to see our projects come to fruition and continue to grow over the years.
What is your favorite part about living in the area?
I just love everything about North Carolina — the people, the climate, the geography from the mountains to the sea.
What are three words that describe you?
Let’s rephrase the question — What I would like others to describe me as? Motivated, thoughtful, happy!
What is your average workday like?
In addition to the Bluffs on the Cape Fear located just outside of Wilmington, I am working on a golf course community in Texas south of Austin called the Big Easy Ranch. So, an average day is fielding calls and emails involving planning and solutions for The Bluffs and The Ranch. I have a great group of folks on my team at both projects, and we all enjoy our work so that makes the job easy.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Creative problem solving! Development is very problem oriented so you must be able to handle difficulty and problems on a regular basis. If you surround yourself with good people that all have similar goals, it is rewarding. It always takes a great team to create success in any business.
What is the most difficult part of your job?
The travel and time away from my family. I am away from home more than I would like, so in a perfect world I could do my job from Pinehurst and never travel.
What has working at The Bluffs on the Cape Fear done for you?
We started working on the Bluffs in 2005 and began selling in 2007 just prior to 2008 market crash. The project failed due to recession at that time, but we persevered and created a new development team in 2014. In 2018 we began rebuilding the project and are back on the road to complete our goals from 2006. This taught me that if you believe in something and work hard, you can accomplish your goals!
Do you have any goals for the company?
To continue making The Bluffs a spectacular community for our current and future residents!
