All types of enrichment classes for kids are available throughout the Cape Fear region. These classes definitely help make children healthy in mind and body.

Carolina Gymnastics Academy

A wide variety of programs are available for boys and girls from crawlers through high school at Carolina Gymnastics Academy. By incorporating fun physical activities with educational tools, even the very youngest kiddos can pick up gymnastic basics and enjoy learning.

Their Gym & Learn program is an early education program which provides children ages 3-5 the opportunity to get a “jump start” on learning the important academic, physical, and social skills necessary to be prepared for kindergarten. Taught by long time coach Zoey Zapple, who has a B.A. in Social Work and a concentration in Early Childhood Education, the program provides age appropriate learning in an active setting.  Another feature of the program helps children learn self-discipline, sharing, and taking turns, while developing a healthy self-image through the sport of gymnastics.  Combining academics, physical fitness, and pro-social interaction will help each child reach his or her full potential, enjoy learning, and begin life physically fit!  This best value program offers gymnastics class, developmental approach to academics, and free play every day. Tuition is weekly, paid in advance.

CGA emphasizes, “What’s best” for each child and tailors instruction accordingly, with classes, camps, teams and more. There’s an After School Program that includes free gym time and help with homework.

The instructors encourage students to use their imagination and be creative when practicing various forms of art. Cameron has after school art programs too, again with classes for those 5-8 and 9-12. Classes include an introduction to painting techniques and hand building with clay. Additionally, children from infant to age 4 and their parents can participate in the weekly Story Explorers program, which emphasizes literacy through the arts and experiential learning.
