Be sure to check weekday lunch specials. The prices are fantastic. Tokyo 101’s bar showcases different cocktail specials every day. Special sushi prices come Monday through Thursday. Hibachi choices are vegetables, chicken, steak, and five types of seafood, offered either singly or as combinations.
Like noodles? The kitchen sends out udon soup and yakisoba creations stir-fried with chicken or seafood. Deep-fried shrimp-and-crab-stuffed jalapenos are among dishes with a fusion feel. The large menu lists soups and salads, a vast array of appetizers and myriad sushi, some raw, some cooked. The restaurant offers gluten-free choices, too.
Portions are generous, and most people wind up taking quite a lot home. Tokyo 101 is available for catering, and they are happy to provide delivery service. There also is a moderately priced children’s menu for kids under age 12. A tranquil water wall is among the dining room’s lovely features.
An outdoor seating area opens when weather permits. Give the mild weather in the Cape Fear region, that means that diners may choose to be outside several months of the year.Diners who sit at the sushi bar get to see chefs at work.
The restaurant opens at 11:30 a.m. Monday-Saturday and at noon Sunday. Both lunch and dinner are served, but keep in mind that the restaurant is closed 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays.
