Cooler days and evenings have settled upon our coastal city, and we’re more inclined toward indoor activities – at least for a little while. What’s there to do?

We at Wilmington Today know the fun doesn’t stop when the summer sun takes a nap and nights are longer and..well..colder. We love to get outdoors in the natural beauty of our parks and beaches even when it’s cooler. But we also enjoy the indoor activities Wilmington has to offer. Here are just a few to get you started.

Go See a Show on a Cold Wilmington Night (Or Day)

When it’s cold outside, try some comedy at Dead Crow Comedy Room. Take a pottery, pilates, or dance class, or see a live show at Hannah Block Historic USO. Or catch a play, musical performance or a Cinematique flick at Thalian Hall.

Wilmington Attractions Are Warm When It’s Cold

Be a tourist in your hometown while the summer crowds are gone! Learn about North Carolina fish and other aquatic animals at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Enjoy regional and national art or take a class at ArtExposure! in Hampstead.

Most of the sights at Battleship North Carolina are inside the ship, a great place for kids to stretch their legs and learn about history. In downtown Wilmington, explore the Museum of the Bizarre.

Beach Shop & Grill in Topsail Beach is open for delicious, casual breakfast and lunch, then adds a great selection of wine and delicious food in the evening.
