Go See a Show on a Cold Wilmington Night (Or Day)
When it’s cold outside, try some comedy at Dead Crow Comedy Room. Take a pottery, pilates, or dance class, or see a live show at Hannah Block Historic USO. Or catch a play, musical performance or a Cinematique flick at Thalian Hall.
Wilmington Attractions Are Warm When It’s Cold
Be a tourist in your hometown while the summer crowds are gone! Learn about North Carolina fish and other aquatic animals at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Enjoy regional and national art or take a class at ArtExposure! in Hampstead.
Most of the sights at Battleship North Carolina are inside the ship, a great place for kids to stretch their legs and learn about history. In downtown Wilmington, explore the Museum of the Bizarre.
Dining Out is Fun in Off Season

Explore Wilmington Shops When It’s Cold Outdoors
Come inside and warm up while you shop (or just window-shop) at some of Wilmington’s interesting stores. Downtown, wander through a variety of shops including Beloved Boutique at the historic Cotton Exchange. Blue Moon Gift Shops is a collection of booths with wonderful, local handmade items.
You’ll find something unique at Ivy Cottage or New River Pottery or at the upscale shops at Lumina Station. And you can always spend a winter day curled up with a good book from Two Sisters Bookery at The Cotton Exchange.
