In addition to the main campus of the New Hanover Regional Medical Center, NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital on Wrightsville Avenue in Wilmington serves as NHRMC’s home for orthopedic services. The facility is designated as a Blue Distinction Center+ in Knee and Hip Replacements by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina and is recognized as a Total Joint Replacement Specialty Center by UnitedHealth Premium. It features designated orthopedic nurses, therapists, technicians and surgeons who are board-certified or eligible in orthopedic surgery.

The dedicated orthopedic hospital includes specialists in hand and shoulder, foot and ankle, and spine as well as arthroscopic surgeries, sports medicine and joint replacement. More than 7,000 orthopedic procedures are performed each year at NHRMC Orthopedic Hospital – more than at any other hospital in the region. NHRMC also operates a 24-hour Emergency Department at this location.
