Hidden Battleship Tours Return

Hidden Battleship tours return to Battleship North Carolina in 2027 with four dates, $75 tickets, and behind-the-scenes access in Wilmington.

The Battleship North Carolina Memorial in Wilmington has announced the return of its popular Hidden Battleship tours for 2027, and tickets are now available for one of the Memorial’s most exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences.

Offered only four times in 2027, Hidden Battleship takes visitors far beyond the traditional self-guided tour and into unrestored areas of the USS North Carolina that are normally closed to the public. Guided in small groups by experienced staff, participants explore spaces deep below deck, across the third deck, into the bow, and high into the ship’s superstructure—all the way to the top.

What is the Hidden Battleship tour?

Hidden Battleship is a six-hour, guided adventure tour designed for visitors who want to experience the ship in a more immersive way. Along the route, guests will navigate:
• Steep ladders
• High hatches
• Tight and confined areas

Because of the physical demands and confined spaces, the tour is limited to participants ages 16 and older.

“Every compartment aboard the Battleship has a story,” said Dr. Jay Martin, Executive Director of Battleship North Carolina Memorial. “Hidden Battleship opens doors that are normally closed, inviting visitors to step into the spaces where sailors lived, worked, and fought—and to experience the ship in a way very few people ever will.”
