Carolina Gymnastics Academy

Visitors and residents with children have a treat in store at Carolina Gymnastics Academy (CGA). Way beyond being only a facility for gymnastics training, owners and former competitive artistic gymnasts Rebecca Bishop and Michele Zapple have created a universe dedicated to children and their parents. Fun, safety, academics, optimum health and physical development are the basis of CGA’s curricula. Coaches, instructors, and staff love kids, are well trained and grounded in the Academy’s philosophy.

Since its opening in 2000, the Academy has continued to expand its offerings. You can select from preschool activities to summer camps and after school programs with just about everything in between. Classes accept ages 3 to 16 years and summer camps ages 3 to 10 years. Other programs are available for little ones as soon as they can crawl.

The campus itself is something to behold. The gym is 15,000 square feet and is equipped for serious gymnastics and tumbling. Lots of space means plenty of room for expending energy following a strenuous school day or during free play, too. A wooded yard has fun stuff to ride and climb on, plus it serves as a nature study area.

CGA provides a service that many residents and visitors enjoy. Every Friday and Saturday night, parents may drop their children off for free play from 6-10 p.m. The program is for boys and girls ages 3-10, and is open to non-members as well as members. Prices are very reasonable too which gives parents the chance to enjoy a date night.
