Spilling the beans on the January 27 Brooklyn Arts District coffee crawl.

If you like supporting small businesses, sampling food and drink (especially coffee-themed things!) and exploring new aspects of the city, you’ll want to catch a sip of the Brooklyn Arts District coffee crawl on January 27. Brewing up fun from noon to 5 p.m., the complimentary city exploration is set to begin at the Brooklyn Arts Center on 704 N. Fourth Street (be sure to grab a voting card!) and finish up at the district’s beer/wine oasis, Palate.

Java lovers can walk around the area and choose-their-own-adventure, popping into whichever storefronts they please — with Boombalatti’s, Brooklyn Cafe, Bottega, Change the Game, Don Luca, Flytrap Brewing, Goat & Compass, The Eagle’s Dare, Pineapple Studios and Three10 all participating in the event. Each spot will have optional coffee-themed items for purchase, such as cannoli, coffee pizza, espresso martinis, drunken lattes or even a “rise and shine” workout! Essentially, it’s a dream come true for coffee connoisseurs and foodies alike.

Coffee Crawl Downtown Wilmington NC

“January can be a dreary, cold month,” says Tara English, who organized the event alongside Joseph Apkarian. “The theme of a warm cup of coffee can encourage people to get out and about.”

Brooklyn Arts District is a one-of-a-kind pocket of the Port City. The section of Downtown Wilmington showcases its own personality — with a slew of restaurants, art studios, musical venues, florists and salons. “It’s a one-stop area where you can park and try so many different things,” English says.

“[You can] explore new businesses, try out an establishment you might not have been aware of, try a wide variety of food and beverages, and enjoy the day outside,” English says.

Sounds like a brew-tiful way to spend the day, indeed!
