Honoring Veterans

by Feb 27, 2024Event, Wilmington

The Honor Flight of the Cape Fear Area’s 2024 Honor Flight, a trip that takes local Veterans to Washington, D.C., is coming up on April 20.

The all-volunteer Honor Flight of the Cape Fear Area (HFCFA) board has been working overtime to ensure that the 2024 Honor Flight is ready to go on April 20, and they have some opportunities for others who want to help honor local Veterans.

HFCFA has been able to confirm the 75 Veterans and guardians who will be making the journey to Washington, D.C., on April 20. While they have many on the waitlist for the next flight, they have been able to accommodate all the WWII and Korean War-era Veterans as well as a significant number of Vietnam War-era Veterans. The stellar medical team from 2023 is joining them again in 2024, and they have several previous bus captains returning to D.C. with them as well.

In the coming weeks HFCFA will have more details about their Welcome Home Celebration at Wilmington International Airport (ILM), but for now, please hold the evening of April 20, starting around 8:30 pm for the celebration.

Below are several other opportunities in the coming weeks for you to help support Honor Flight.
