Beauty and Bloom, a Wilmington flower shop and beauty boutique, combines salon and spa services with the bonus of a build-your-own bouquet bar.

Meet uber-cute hair salon and flower shop Beauty and Bloom, flaunting flowers and feelin’ fab via its array of hair and spa services, from classic cutting and styling to coloring, balayage, blowouts and extensions, not to mention waxing, facials, makeup and an array of other spa services.

Beyond the hair necessities, Beauty and Bloom boasts a flower shop featuring a build-your-own bouquet bar in the lobby (and for those sans a green thumb, a receptionist can build one for you!). Plus, patrons can snag flower crowns, bridal bouquets, corsages, boutonnières, bridesmaid bouquets, centerpieces, garlands and more.

“Since 2006, I’ve loved creating beautiful looks with makeup and flowers for weddings and special events,” says Shelly Shi, esthetician/makeup artist, co-founder and self-proclaimed petal pusher. “Being able to incorporate both makeup and floral design into one business is a dream come true.”

Lindsay Webb, co-founder, master stylist and fellow petal pusher, adds: “As a human being, I yearn for growth in my personal and professional life. I’ve always dreamed of one day being able to create a salon culture that represents that — and shines through to the community and our salon guests. Bringing that vision to life with my best friend is icing on the cake.”

The business initially budded circa 2017 as Beauty Crew Mobile, a beauty boutique on wheels for hair and makeup looks on the go, coming in handy especially for weddings and events. Beauty and Bloom only grew from there, launching its brick-and-mortar business in 2019 (and just celebrating its fourth birthday in May). N0w, the women-run, 12-person team expects to continue rising to the occasion for the Wilmington community in terms of buds and beauty.

“We bring a unique space and concept to Wilmington,” says Nicole Naughton, salon manager. “We stand out among other salons — people can come get a blowout and leave with a bouquet. There’s nothing else like that here.”

And Beauty and Bloom can be spotted around town with its flowers and flair via pop-up shops at local Wilmington markets such as the Satellite Second Sunday; local breweries (Waterline Brewing Co., Hi-Wire Brewing and the Downtown ILM Market; Poplar Grove Plantation; and The Groove Market.

Go ahead and treat yourself to a pampering (and perennial!) sesh … you deserve it!
