When it comes to wedding venues, Wilmington, NC has it all! You can get married outdoors or indoors, barefoot at the beach or at a venue as untraditional (and incredible) as the Fort Fisher Aquarium. At Wilmington Today, we’re obsessed with these fun, elegant, and unusual wedding venues.

Airlie Gardens Wedding Venue

A wedding at Airlie Gardens combines formal gardens with grandeur and history. Have your wedding under the 468-year-old Airlie Oak, at the Minnie Evans Bottle Garden, on Bradley Creek Lawn, or at the pergola. Airlie can provide golf carts, a site manager, restrooms, security, and power. Airlie is a popular wedding venue for both its beauty and amenities, and it can accommodate up to 300 guests between the months of March and October.

Beau Rivage Wedding Venue

The clubhouse at Beau Rivage can host a wedding party of 20 to 400 people. The ballroom seats 210 for a seated dinner. Two floors of the clubhouse overlook the beautiful grounds, or choose an outdoor setting at the Live Oak Wedding Tree or East Lawn. There are overnight accommodations for guests and full bar service as well as a bar and grill. Outside catering is welcomed.

Poplar Grove Plantation Weddings

This beloved historic plantation has hosted weddings for generations. Couples who favor natural beauty will love the views in every season. Site your wedding ceremony at the gazebo, the back courtyard of the Manor House, or under the Red Oak tree. Poplar Grove has a bridal suite on the top floor of the Manor House for the bride to dress and prepare before descending down the main staircase, and there’s a gentlemen’s morning room.

Have a ceremony by the sea—have your wedding and reception at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. With coastal gardens and underwater views, this unusual and beautiful wedding venue can be grand or intimate. Choose from multiple venues, seating, and strolling options for 60 to 2,000 guests.

Battleship North Carolina Weddings

Have your wedding at a historical landmark! You can rent the Battleship NC or the adjacent Battleship Park for your wedding and reception. The view of the Cape Fear River and downtown Wilmington makes it a special and unique setting. It was also named a “Unique Reception Site” by The Knot.

Wilmington Yacht Charters’ Sanjema II

Feeling nautical? Get married on a yacht! The Sanjema II is available for smaller weddings and receptions for parties of up to 30 at her home port of Wilmington Marine Center. While the boat is underway, only six paying guests may be aboard, so you might plan your wedding at dock and end later with a quiet evening for just a few special guests. Meals can be prepared aboard or catered in. Sanjema II has a small bar for your mixed drink needs.
