$20K Grant From Clayton to Family Promise
Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear receives a $20K grant from Clayton to support families in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender Counties.
Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear has been awarded a $20,000 grant from Clayton, a leading home builder, to bolster its mission of preventing homelessness among families in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender Counties. This generous funding ensures that local families receive the necessary support to remain safely housed and regain stability.
This grant is part of a larger $1.5 million commitment from Clayton to the Family Promise national network through their initiative, A Future Begins at Home. Launched in 2019, this collaboration between Family Promise and Clayton has been instrumental in helping over 30,000 families nationwide. By focusing on early intervention, the initiative aims to prevent homelessness and provide swift support for families in crisis.
“Preventing homelessness before it begins is one of the most impactful ways to address this crisis,” said Angie Hill, Interim Executive Director of Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear. “Keeping families in their homes spares children the trauma of displacement and allows parents to focus on rebuilding their lives. Thanks to Clayton’s partnership, we can expand our reach and work toward a future where every child has a safe, stable home.”
Since their partnership began, Clayton has not only provided financial support but also donated 18 homes to the Family Promise network, including one to Family Promise of the Lower Cape Fear in 2021.
These homes serve as transitional housing, enabling families to stay together while accessing case management and support services as they work toward securing permanent housing.
