Cape Fear Professional Women in Building Council receives a national award at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas.

The Cape Fear Professional Women in Building Council (PWB) recently won the 2023 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Professional Women in Building Council of the Year award in the Large HBA category.

This award represents the highest level of recognition presented by NAHB’s Professional Women in Building Council. It recognizes a local council for accomplishments in its local community and within the building industry throughout the NAHB Federation.

“Our council members have shown dedication and perseverance over the past year, advancing women in construction through our core values of outreach, connections and empowerment,” says Kate Eames, chair of the Professional Women in Building Council in 2024. “We are extremely proud of our hard work and are honored to receive this recognition.”

Cape Fear PWB Award National

The award was presented during a ceremony at NAHB’s Professional Women in Building Council Board of Trustees Meeting, held at the International Builders Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Colleen Wallace, a local chapter PWB member, and the association’s executive officer participated in the award ceremony.

The NAHB Professional Women in Building Council (PWB) is the voice of women in the building industry — dedicated to promoting industry professionalism and supporting members at the local, state and national levels. Through education, professional development and networking opportunities, PWB helps members acquire and develop invaluable leadership and business management skills that boost career success.

The Cape Fear Professional Women in Building is a nationally recognized NAHB-affiliated local council of the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association.
