The New Hanover Regional Medical Center is a vast, award-winning network. There are a large number of specialty facilities at NHRMC that are worthy of special note.

NHRMC Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital offers expert women’s and children’s care including obstetrical care for routine and high-risk deliveries. The unit handles about 3,700 births each year. Other services include the state’s only all-private-room Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that cares for babies born prematurely or critically ill. The NHRMC Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital also has the only pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric surgery program in the region. These specialized services address the medical and surgical needs of children who need hospitalization. Comprehensive pediatric subspecialty care is provided through the Nunnelee Pediatric Specialty Clinics. The clinic is able to offer children with ongoing medical needs the opportunity to receive advanced pediatric care close to home.

The NHRMC Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital is a two-time winner of the Studer Excellence in Patient Care Award, presented by a nationally recognized healthcare consulting firm, to recognize facilities for outstanding achievement in areas of patient safety and quality care. NHRMC Betty H. Cameron Women’s & Children’s Hospital is also designated as a Baby-Friendly facility, recognized for offering an optimal level of family-centered care and education on infant feeding and mother/baby bonding.
