South Beach Grill
South Beach Grill is a delightful spot for people and boat watching. The restaurant’s location on Lumina Avenue in the center of Wrightsville Beach puts it walking distance to both the beach and boats on Banks Channel. In fact, South Beach Grill is accessible by boat; dock and dine at Wynn Plaza directly across the street. Enjoy the indoor and outdoor seating, both with a water view, for lunch and dinner.
The dinner menu, highlighting seafood, meats and pasta, reads fine dining but no need to dress up. Casual attire is fine. Enjoy a signature cocktail, beer or wine while chefs carefully craft your meal. The chef features numerous daily chalkboard specials, depending on what’s fresh and every effort is made to only source local produce. The fresh fish of the day can be prepared one of three ways, is served with the choice of two sides from among a selection of seven, and is enhanced with the one of six sauces for a true personally-designed dishes.
Check some South Beach traditions, including popular appetizers such as seafood nachos and fried pickles dipped in a secret batter recipe. Grouper Linda has been on the dinner menu since the restaurant opened in 1997 for good reason. Pan-seared, pecan-crusted grouper is served with backfin crab meat, spring onions and cream sherry beurre blanc. Flounder Francais is a simpler affair with the fresh fish sautéed with a classic lemon parsley butter sauce.
South Beach is known for ultra-fresh salads, which may be topped with fried oysters or other seafood. A bowl of the daily soup with a salad is a nice, light lunch. Lots of appetizers, salads and sandwiches are on the lunch menu. Whether you choose a traditional BLT or a Shrimp Po’ Bo don’t forget the house potato chips with chipotle ranch dipping sauce. Vegan and gluten-free plates are available at lunch and dinner.
South Beach Grill is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and until 9 p.m. on Sunday.
