The kitchen crew prepare scrumptious from-scratch soups and specials daily, the offerings blending classic preparations with Southern touches. Starters include quail breasts with sundried cherries over Southern collard greens with crispy smoked bacon and port wine-brown sugar sauce.
For dinner, the chateaubriand is the most flavorful and tender in Wilmington. The goat cheese-crusted grilled grouper with roasted tomatoes, buttered asparagus, whipped potatoes and honey-lemon aioli is superb. There’s butter-grilled filet mignon, rosemary-dijon grilled rack of lamb and Jerry’s popular crab imperial-stuffed flounder with lemon-caper beurre blanc.
If it all seems so rich, don’t fret. Half portions are available for diners with smaller appetites, meaning you’ll have room for one of the luscious desserts. The restaurant has a full bar and an extensive wine list with prices from moderate to princely. Many of the wines offered here are not available in other Wilmington restaurants. Servers are friendly, knowledgeable, professional and attentive.
