Dining on the Intracoastal

Bluewater Waterfront Grill boasts a must-see view if you are looking for a picturesque dining experience. Sunset pastels – pink, orange and lemon chiffon – turn the marina into an amazing watercolor. Situated just over Wrightsville Beach’s Causeway Bridge, which locals call “the first bridge,” as you approach town, the sprawling two-story restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor patio seating. This waterfront Grill – offering seafood, meat, vegetarian, and above all, creative and delicious dishes – feels cozy yet sophisticated. The culinary team brushes brown ale barbecue sauce on dry-rubbed baby back ribs and perfectly seasoned juicy cuts of steak. The Lobster and Shrimp Stuffed Salmon, and creamy Bluewater Shrimp and Grits, are some of the Chef’s latest creations. Panko-crusted Salmon Salad is elegantly plated and boasting with flavor. Bluewater has a variety of appetizers, including Norwegian smoked salmon dip, spicy calamari and their signature crab dip to start off any meal.

At lunch, order the Mojito Coconut Shrimp Tacos served with fries or maybe a local favorite, such as the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes. Everyone looks forward to the seasonal soft-shell crab sandwich. If you’re really hungry, order the Pork Belly Bacon Burger. We promise you won’t leave hungry. The fried calabash seafood platter is also a favorite and comes with flounder, shrimp and oysters, and there are several salads and vegetarian options available. Daily features are other good bets for lunch and dinner, offering up a choice of local, fresh fish, served blackened, grilled or fried.

If you’re looking for a Sunday brunch spot, Bluewater serves a brunch menu with several flavorful items in addition to their lunch items. Try the Bananas Foster French Toast or Southern Breakfast Burger with pimento cheese and fried egg, and don’t forget to order a bloody mary or one of their champagne cocktails.
